Barbour Institute Wedding Photography

I am delighted to share this DIY wedding from the Barbour Institute. The Barbour Institute is a unique and wonderful building in the heart of Tattenhall. It was erected by George Barbour in memory of his Mother, Janet Andrew Barbour, who died in 1896 with the purpose of providing a public room for parish purposes. It is safe to say that it has a gorgeous hall which is perfect for a DIY wedding like Annie & James’s fantastic wedding. You can Get in touch with the Barbour Institute to arrange a viewing or to discuss your wishes in detail.

Annie & James’s DIY wedding at the Barbour institute

The day started just down the road at the BeeHive Pub in Tattenhall with Annie and her bridesmaids and lovely mum  and dad. Once make up and hair was complete we headed down to the wedding at the Barbour Institute. The wedding was a completely DIY affair with guests bringing cakes, helping to chang the room around after the ceremony, making the bunting, the table plan and table decorations for this incredible emotional yet very happy and fun occasion. I really enjoyed being a Barbour Institute wedding photographer and loved the atmosphere in this wedding – it was perfect from start to finish.

Couples portraits in Tattenhall

The couples portraits were easy because James and Annie were so easy to photograph! We were however a little unlucky with the weather, thankfully their is a nice park next to the Barbour Institute which is the perfect space for couples portraits. Their is also a lovely little bridge just up the road in Tattenhall. We went outside for no more than ten minutes which was plenty of time. Annie and James wanted to spend the majority of their day with their guests and I was happy to oblige!

Evening party at the Barbour Institute

After the speeches and the food it was time for the party which was kicked off by James’s entrance to the cake cutting via the champions league song being sang by a professional opera singer who was also a guest – she was just incredible.  Then it was time for the first dance and then the party soon started! The dance floor was packed and I loved being their. The bride & groom, family & friends were all fantastic. A quality evening and one enjoyed by so many – thank you so much Annie & James for having me as your wedding photographer at the Barbour Institute, one of my favourite weddings of 2019.
