Ashfield House - Twilight Wedding - Lancashire Wedding Photographer

Ashfield House is an exclusive wedding venue in Standish, Wigan and I am delighted to be an Ashfield House wedding photographer! This stunning country house that was built in 1755, it was granted permission to become a luxury hotel and restaurant in 1993. Over the years it was likely to be made into apartments but thankfully the recession stopped that. That is when Katie the daughter of Mel who now runs Ashfield House had a vision of creating a stunning country house wedding venue. It is safe to say this has been achieved and more. Since they started weddings it has become one of the best wedding venues in the North West and U.K picking up multiple awards along the way.

Dan & Sophie’s Twilight Wedding at Ashfield House

Dan & Sophie opted for a slightly later wedding today followed by a slightly different wedding which was awesome. Rather than a big sit down three course meal they had a BBQ with no top table. Just after food was finished Dan gave his speech followed by the bands first set. Evening guests soon arrived and the second set and evening party started. Because it was a later wedding I stayed until 10.30pm and it was brilliant because everybody really was enjoying themselves a fantastic band called Scratch that the bride and groom had seen in their local pub performed a couple of sets and it was awesome, one of the best bands I have seen this year! DFC’s Sax and Chris Cooper wedding host and DJ really were on form tonight as well which basically meant it was a bloody awesome party!

Couples portraits

As soon as they tied the knot we were restricted for time so we went straight to confetti followed couples portraits and then did some small groups on the stairs of this incredible wedding venue. It really doesn’t matter what the weather is like when you are photographing at Ashfield house because the interior offers so many opportunities for fantastic photos, we were lucky to be able to get outside for 5 minutes for couples portraits and then back in for drinks. When guests are doing tequila before 5pm you know it is going to be a great day!

An Incredible party at Ashfield House

You know it is going to be an incredible wedding party when guests are doing tequila at 5pm and the drinks are flowing. I really wasn’t disappointed and I honestly think this brilliant bride and groom got exactly what they wanted from their wedding – a brilliant party! I am so pleased to have been a part of it and I am delighted to share this sneak peek with you.
