Ashfield House | Chloe & Gareth

Ashfield House is an exclusive wedding venue in Standish, Wigan and I am delighted to be an Ashfield House wedding photographer and have photographed at this fantastic wedding venue on several occasions. In fact after Chloe & Gareth’s wedding I was straight back to photograph here two weeks later for another wedding!

This stunning country house that was built in 1755, it was granted permission to become a luxury hotel and restaurant in 1993. Over the years it was likely to be made into apartments but thankfully the recession stopped that. That is when Katie the daughter of Mel who now runs Ashfield House had a vision of creating a stunning country house wedding venue. It is safe to say this has been achieved and more. Since they started weddings it has become one of the best wedding venues in the North West and U.K picking up multiple awards along the way.

What Chloe & Gaz said about Andy Griffiths Photography

“Andy was our photographer on Saturday and I cannot recommend him highly enough! He was absolutely incredible- so laid back, made us feel completely at ease, and is hilarious! He told stories and made me laugh to calm my nerves, got involved and had a good laugh with our guests, and everyone said how relaxed they felt around him. Thank you so much for being amazing”

Chloe & Gareth at Ashfield House

Chloe & Gaz wanted a relaxed feel to their wedding and thats what they got. I started the morning with the bride and her bridesmaids and bridesmen! Her mum and nan were also there and it was certainly a fun filled morning. When Gaz arrived to get ready I went to the bridal suite to see him for ten minutes. It was a little emotional in the morning when gifts were given out which is always a nice thing to see.

The morning flew by and it was time for the big unveiling and it is safe to say everyone loved the dress from Lottie’s Bridal Boutique. This wedding was great – Liz Hendry was also there playing the piano for the wedding guests – Liz is such a lovely woman and is always a fantastic addition to any wedding. The ceremony was again a little emotional and the bride and groom were soon married. I do love photographing weddings at Ashfield House the ceremony room is lovely and the staff are always so attentive and excellent at what they do.

Couples portraits at Ashfield House

We were lucky with the weather today and after confetti, a handful of group photos we headed out for some couples portraits. Ashfield House is the perfect backdrop and has various places you can go for photos. In addition even if it is raining all day the inside of this incredible venue is perfect for both couples portraits and group formals. Today we got outside and the lovely bride has the biggest smile going so it was really easy to photograph these two!

Chris Cooper Wedding Host & DJ

I have worked with Chris on a number of occasions now and have to say the weddings I do with him are very enjoyable. He gets the guests going and ready for the party. Today was no different and everyone had a great time, with the newlyweds playing Mr & Mrs and the guests getting involved with their favourite memories of the couple. Some were certainly not PC today!

It was then time for the evening celebrations and the dance floor was great – always one of my favourite times of the day and today was no different. It always helps having a good DJ or band and if you need any recommendations before your wedding then just drop me a message – I would be happy to help. You don’t want to spend a year or more planning the best day ever to then have a rubbish DJ or band!
