Thornton Manor is one of Cheshire’s premier wedding venues set on the Wirral Built in the middle of the 19th Century.

Thornton manor is a large house with acres of land in the village of Thornton Hough, Wirral. It is a grade II listed building and was first built in the 19th century and has been altered and extended a number of times. It was occupied by Viscounts Leverhulme until the end of the 20th century and is now one of the leading wedding venues in the North west.

Felicity & Doug’s wedding at Thornton Manor

The day started in the Gate House Cottage with Felicity and her bridesmaids. It was such a relaxed morning with everyone and it was soon time to head over to the Manor House for Felicity to get into her dress from Along Came Eve Bridal Boutique. I also briefly met up with Doug & his best man in the morning – I knew today was going to be a good day! The couple tied the knot in the Manor House with the bridesmaids walking in from inside the house and the bride walked in from the outside.

Couples portraits at Thornton Manor

No matter the weather or the time of year, this is an incredible place for wedding photos. With the beautiful Manor House and its stunning grounds as a wedding photographer you really are spoilt for choice. Even though it was incredibly windy, we headed out for ten minutes before the wedding breakfast for some couples portraits. It was good that we were able to get out and give the newly weds some time away from the guests.

After speeches and the wedding breakfast it was time for some Scottish bagpipes – everyone loved it – apart from maybe one guest! It was soon time for cake cut and then straight into the first dance.

The bride and groom asked me to stay until 10.30pm for todays wedding and I am so glad they did – the party was awesome and everyone was having a great time. Jukebox Band were entertaining the guests and everyone had a great time. Evening parties are some of my favourite times of a wedding and today was no different.
